Meet the Teacher

Hello! My name is Char Hight and I am a first-year teacher living in Dallas, TX. I have years of preschool teaching experience, but I knew I wanted more of a challenge. I attended the University of Kansas and graduated May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a TESOL endorsement.

My student teaching experience was a split placement. During fall of 2016, I taught 1st grade, and in the spring I taught 6th-grade pre-algebra and social studies. In addition to student teaching, I have practicum experiences in third and fifth grade.

I was born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and moved to Atlanta, Ga when I was eight years old. I have an amazing husband, Josh, whom I have been married to for eleven years. We have three children: Cameron, Mya, and Jayden. I can't forget Diesel, he's our mix-breed fur baby. 

 I will be teaching 6th-grade math and science for the 2017-2018 school year. I truly enjoyed student teaching at the intermediate level. Getting to know the students and seeing their growth is by far my favorite part of teaching. I can't wait for my first year and you have a backstage pass!
